INTERNATIONAL BUYERS FOR NIGERIA FASHION WEEK



For the first time in the history of the Nigerian fashion industry, international buyers are actually attending and sourcing for fashion products and accessories from Nigeria. It will be at the 2012 edition of the Nigeria Fashion Week scheduled for 8th – 10th November at the Muson Centre, Lagos.

Some of the confirmed buyers expected include the Milan based Camera Buyer Moda who runs over 120 shops in Europe. Also expected is the Sak Brand Group which is one of the largest accessory companies in the United States. It has outlets in 4,500 departmental stores in the United States and is sold across the globe in 24 international markets. Some of its outlets includes Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Belk, Neiman, JC Penny, Sears, Nordstrom, Jaks Fifth Avenue etc. Also attending is the Australian based TCF Global Group. They have some of the biggest marketing networks in Asia like China, Indonisia, Thailand, the Phillipines and around the world. As at press time, more buyers are still confirming their attendance.

The Nigeria Fashion Week is packaged and organised by Legendary Gold Limited in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture & National Orientation and the World Fashion Organization. The Nigeria Fashion Week 2012 will be presenting over 40 designers from around the world on 2 daily shows for 3 days. It will run daily exhibitions from 8 am – 8 pm. Some of the designers showing their collection include Frank Osodi, Mai Atafo, Adebayo Jones, Francesco D’Amico from Milan, Kosibah Creation, Zizi Cardow etc.




According to the President of Nigeria Fashion Week, Lexy Mojo Eyes, ‘it is worthless to have a fashion week without buyers. The major aim of fashion weeks anywhere around the world is to create market for participating designers collection and this is what Legendary Gold Limited over the years have been working towards. We are very excited we are getting there little by little’.

Mr Lexy Mojo Eyes won the 2012 Nigerian Entertainment and Lifestyle Awards in UK

Mr Lexy Mojo Eyes, the CEO of LegendaryGold Limited the organizer of the Nigeria Fashion Week  recently won this years NEL Awards, held at NH Harrington Hotel, 5-25 Harrington Gardens, London,UK

The NEL awards recognises outstanding Nigerians that have excelled in their fields of expertise.Nominated along side Mr Lexy is Chief Mrs Julie Coker and a host of other notable Nigerians

The award was received on his behalf by renowned UK based designer Adebayo Jones.
