Meet Our Designer of the Day;Ifeyinwa Odo Shekinah

Ifeyinwa Odo Shekinah is one of Nigeria’s emerging designers, adding colour & glamour to the fast rising fashion industry with her apt creativity & funk, cutting across all personalities. She attended St Mary’s Private Primary School, Broad St Lagos, & later the Fed. Govt. Girl’s College Owerri, Imo State, from where she proceeded to study Political Science at the Enugu State University Of Science and technology – ESUT and finally served the nation at Obudu Cattle Ranch in Cross River State in 2004. Ify as a little girl had always been good with her fingers in needlework, figure sketching, hence winning awards in needlework and fine arts right from her childhood. She started designing clothes from her room for friends and family, but today her talent has evolved into a clothing brand. Interestingly, Misiano is also a seasoned gospel artiste with her very first album on the way, and her first music video to hit the screens in January 2012. Currently, she works as an air hostess in Arik Air, Nigeria’s leading airline. She gradually aims to promote Nigeria’s rich fabrics through her label and to impact young people in the acquisition of the art of dressmaking and designing. The House of Misiano is a clothing line that caters for individuals with a peculiar sense of style that sets them apart from others. The label was established in 2005 and has gained recognition in the industry through unique collections with attention to details, form and fit, and fabric care with the use high quality luxury fabrics.
